Boracay and Ambassador in Paradise Resort Experience 2022

Last 2018, the famous island of Boracay was temporarily closed for rehabilitation and redevelopment. Then came the pandemic in 2020 which adds another year or so, for it to take a break again from the general public. I guess even the ocean also needs rest and I'm glad it did. I bet you will also agree with me on this especially when you already had the chance to visit our world-famous island after its reopening.

Just like you, I was also one of those people who wanted to visit Boracay again and I certainly did not miss the chance to see the beauty of the island for the seventh time, with my sister (my best travel buddy), to celebrate my birthday this month of November. Obviously, I love this place, the exceptionally and almost-perfect fine powdery white sand particularly the sea bed, the pristine waters, the fun vibrant vibe of the island itself, different activities to choose from, and so many restaurants and food choices. I mean, those are just few among many reasons why this "isla" is always included in the list of top beaches around the world.

You know those type of peeps who love to write, collect memories? Tagged as "studious" amongst your classmates in school? Well, I'm kinda one of those lol! I like to take note of those very special travel adventures so that I can have something to look back on. Meaning, it can be of great use like right now, here in my blog. Since I said earlier that it our seventh time in Boracay, I might as well share the accommodations from first visit with my late mom, my sister and kuya Owen in year 2006, until recently-this November of 2022. Hope it can help you out soon when searching for boracay resorts and hotels 📝

  1. Fairways and Bluewater Resort Golf and Country Club - Station 1 - Year 2006 - my very first Boracay trip and definitely the most memorable one with my late mom. The room is not the typical hotel room. Looks more of a condotel and the room is huge and complete with bedrooms, dining room, living room and kitchen area. The first meal we had was Andoks Lechon Manok which we bought from D'Mall.

  2. Club Manila East (CME Boracay) - Station 2 - August 2012 - trip with family and work-family - the room is comfy and homey. Enjoyed the Sandwiches at 'Hungry Monkey' at D'Mall (it is still open until now).

  3. Boracay Regency Hotel - Station 2 - November 2014 - my first birthday celebration in Boracay and their breakfast buffet is still our favorite in all our travel experiences here in the Philippines.

  4. La Carmela De Boracay - Station 2 - August 2015 - The Fish Spa at "My Fish Spa" also in station 2 is a recommended relaxing activity. Of course, Beach Bumming never gets old and will never be in this beautiful beach.

  5. Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel - Station 2 - November 2017 - travelled with family. Enjoyed dinner and fire dance show at the hotel's restaurant called "Bucos Bar & Grill".

  6. Luxx Boutique Hotel - April 2019 - Station 2 but not on beachfront since it was summer season and most of the beachfront hotels were fully-booked. Don't worry, it is just 2-3 minutes walk to the beach and the room is clean, comfortable and cozy.

7. AMBASSADOR IN PARADISE RESORT EXPERIENCE 🏩

Come November 2022, we stayed at a beachfront resort called 'Ambassador in Paradise Resort' in Station 1. To avoid hassle in transfers from the airport, to the jetty port terminal, to station 2, and lastly to the hotel; we used their 'Airport-Hotel Transfer' and vice-versa service. Upon Arrival at Boracay Airport, you need to manually search, wait and pick-up your luggage from "kuya manong" because there is no baggage carousel, up until now.

If I remember it correctly, there is no much improvement in the caticlan arrival airport, but their airport for departure to Manila has been improved impressively. I would hope soon, they can also focus more in improving Caticlan Arrival Airport as this is the first stop to welcome all tourists both local and international.

For public transportation, Tricycles (e-trike) are available for around 15 minutes ride from the airport to the jetty port. Boat ride is another 10 minutes ride and e-trike ride again to your resorts/hotels.

And we finally arrived at the resort. A necklace made from little shells and a welcome drink as soon as we were warm greeted with all smiles from the hoteliers in the reception area.

Headed to our room, a spacious and sophisticated Premier Room gives justice to the lovely 'room photos' on their website. You will not feel like you are a victim of "expectation vs reality" situation.

The massive bathroom and the design is a 4.5-star for me. I think this comes next as the biggest bathroom we had in a resort/hotel after Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort in Cebu.

We liked the big bed and soft bed linens and sets. The balcony is a favorite as well where you can have a cup of coffee while overlooking the pool, the trees and the white beach.

The restaurant's lighting design at night is magnificent. Perfect spot where you want to just have a 'very chill dinner and beer' vibe. Swimming Pool is big with 4-6ft. Pool lighting at night also looks splendid.

Customer Service is grade A I must say. All employees are friendly. When we were first inquiring via email, they were very prompt, responsive and professional. They made my birthday 2022 a very memorable and fun one. Thank you for the cake, candle with cute luces, and a heart-stopping-surprisingly birthday song with the tambourine. Even my siz was surprised (i guess we need to lessen coffee intake lol)!

Ambassador is situated near Discovery Shores, Sur Boracay, Hennan Prime, Sea Wind, Two Seasons and The Lind. The downside of the location are the food and restaurant choices. We often go to D'Mall in station 2 via 5-10 minutes e-trike ride for P15/head. We had one dinner at Discovery Shores to also check out the place and it looks extravagant, even the price of the food. Breakfast Buffet is just OK for us. 4 mains, bread, soup, cereals, salad and egg sections. Sad to say, the important thumbs down for me is the coffee. In my opinion, the amount of water and the coffee beans/grounds in brewing is sure a win or lose indicator. We heard this guy next to our table telling his companions, "tara mag coffee shop na nga lang tayo!". Same dude, same.

Hence, overall experience is wonderful. Had an amazing 5 days in this resort and I am thankful that we have found another gem in this gorgeous island. Lastly, upon check-out, while we were heading to the van, the receptionists and some hotelier were lining up outside the entrance of the lobby and we were like "what are they doing lining up--are they gonna do tiktok?", but when we were leaving, they were just all in-sync waving goodbye and sending warm bon voyage. The warmest bon voyage we had in a trip. Simple but Sincere. Thank you Ambassador.

If you are looking to book for December, Room Rate starts from P7,500 per room per night good for maximum of 4 adults. Highly Recommended for those looking for a relaxing accommodation that is a little secluded from the main crowded attractions.

BORACAY EXPERIENCE 2022🏝

DAY 1 :

  • Lunch at D'Mall at C and C Seafood Restaurant. Ordered shrimp and squid. They also cater to big groups and "paluto"

  • Dessert at Aria Gelato-beside Aria Restaurant

  • Dinner at Ambassador Restaurant and ordered Bulalo. Cocktails and Nachos to wrap up the night

  • Activity : beach bumming for today

DAY 2 :

  • Lunch at Sea Salt Hennan Prime Resort - a minute walk from Ambassador. Pasta and Salmon are great.

  • Walked around station 1 and we reached this Thai Restaurant situated in "True Home Hotel and Bistro". After a good swim, a good snack is a must. Tried their Tom Yum popcorn and Kropek and both are yummy. Beer for Siz and there was me enjoying an iced coffee and it was "strongly perfect"!

DAY 3 :

DAY TOUR 👣

  • with Manong Juhn for 600pesos per hour : we only toured for 2 hours (10am-12pm) and visited:

  • Bulabog Beach - no swimming here, spot for those who want to try kitesurfing for 8,000-3 hours-for beginners

  • Boracay Newcoast (by Megaworld): around 30 minutes drive from Bulabog Beach. Newly built hotels namely Savoy, Chancellor and Belmont. More restaurants are already opened as well. The Beach View is stunning until we reached the famous "Keyhole". Somehow a little "Batanes" vibe. We just enjoyed the view, took pictures but did not take a swim anymore. We wanted to have a little swim at the next stop instead. Off to...

  • Diniwid Beach - had a great quick nice swim. Swimming felt different this time with some stones on the sea bed

  • Lunch at Sole Restaurant beside Ambassador. Happy Hour from 2-7pm for buy1 take 1 for beer and cocktails for P240

  • Back to D'Mall for Dinner and to our favorite al fresco restobar for lobster, crab, shrimps, beer and booze drinks while listening to a live band (I'm a fan of the vocalist who belted out and gave justice to my idol Adele songs), at Paraiso Bar & Grill beside Boracay Uptown Hotel. You will not miss this spot as I think they are the biggest al fresco bar and grill in station 2 with live bands the whole night

DAY 4 :

  • relax, chill and swim day at the beach the whole day!

  • Back to D'Mall for our last dinner for this trip before departure tomorrow. Japanese Food is always part of our travels as long as there's japanese restaurant available. Enjoyed food at HAMA Japanese Cuisine Resto

DAY 5 : Check-Out at 11am. Back to Manila.

Thank you Lord for another safe and wonderful travel adventure. Thank you Siz and Ambassador in Paradise Resort for another great boracay experience
